1. Refund & Cancellation Policy (100% Refund If Car Sells First)

  • 100% Full Refund Before Mechanic Dispatch: If the private seller or dealer sells the vehicle to another buyer, refuses to allow the inspection, stops responding, or if you cancel your booking before our mobile mechanic departs for the vehicle location, you are entitled to a 100% full refund back to your original payment card. Unlike other services, we never force you to accept non-refundable store credit.
  • $49 Risk-Free Scheduling Hold: If you book our $49 Scheduling Hold and the seller does not confirm an inspection window within 48 hours (or has already sold the vehicle), your $49 deposit is refunded in full.
  • $29 Remote Listing & VIN Red-Flag Audit Credit: Your $29 audit fee is 100% credited toward any Standard ($189) or Comprehensive ($249) On-Site Mobile Mechanic Inspection booked within 30 days. If you cancel an audit order before our advisor delivers the audit report, it is 100% refundable.

2. Terms of Service & Inspection Scope

TrueWrench Inspections provides visual, acoustic, road-test, and electronic OBD-II diagnostic pre-purchase evaluations of used motor vehicles across the United States.

  • Non-Invasive Visual & Diagnostic Inspection: Because the vehicle is owned by a third-party seller, our mechanics cannot disassemble engine components, remove wheels/brake drums, or perform destructive testing. Undercarriage inspections are performed on-site using inspection mirrors, jacks/ramps where permitted by the seller and surface conditions, and high-resolution photography.
  • Road Test Conditions: Every on-site inspection includes a road test provided the vehicle is street-legal, insured/plated, safe to operate, and the seller grants permission.
  • No Warranty or Guarantee of Future Vehicle Performance: A pre-purchase inspection reports the observable condition of the vehicle at the exact date and mileage of the inspection. Used vehicles contain wear components that can fail unpredictably after inspection. TrueWrench’s maximum liability for any claim arising from an inspection is limited to the fee paid for that inspection.

3. Privacy Policy

We collect only the information needed to coordinate your vehicle inspection, process payment via Stripe, and deliver your inspection report:

  • Information Collected: Buyer name, email address, phone number, vehicle VIN/listing details, and seller contact details provided for appointment scheduling.
  • Payment Security: All credit and debit card payments are processed directly by Stripe over encrypted HTTPS connections. TrueWrench never stores raw card numbers or CVV codes in our database.
  • Confidentiality of Your Report: Your inspection report and negotiation brief are prepared exclusively for you (the paying buyer). We never share your report or negotiation math with the seller unless you choose to forward it to them.
